Simon Coley, who co-founded the quirky soft drinks company which exports to 25 markets, says sustainability and conscious consumption is now at the forefront of consumers minds and resulting in big sales of products that are better for consumption and the environment.

January 5, 2021 1311 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Richard “Richie” Bird, 50, formerly of Naugatuck, Conn., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. Richard was born June 29, 1970, in Waterbury, the son of Kevin Bird Sr. and Ilene (Lamoureux) Bird. He was a longtime Naugatuck resident before moving out of state. Most recently he lived in Florida with his domestic partner of 27 years, Neil Brackett of Fair Haven, Mass. Besides his parents, Richard is survived by his daughter Stephanie Sestito; his brother Kevin Bird Jr. of Naugatuck, Conn.; his sister Maureen Fortin of Naugatuck, Conn.; as well as two nephews and four nieces.

Bath Township reorganization meeting BATH TOWNSHIP The Bath Township board of trustees held its annual reorganization meeting Dec. 30. Trustee Tom Pitstick will serve as chairperson, and trustee Kassie Lester will serve as vice chairperson, while Trustee Steve Ross rotated out from his position as chairman and will continue to serve as trustee at large. Historically, trustees rotate through the various positions. Newly elected trustees serve their first year as trustee at large, their second year as vice chairperson, third year as chairperson. As this is Lester’s second year as trustee, she has been appointed vice chair. Pitstick assumes the position of chairperson, following Ross’s tenure. This year marks the 21st year that Pitstick has served as trustee, and he has served as chairman every three years of his tenure.
